Blocked pores

What causes blocked pores?

  • Blocked, or clogged pores, occur when dead skin cells, excess oil, makeup residue, pollutants, bacteria and dirt stop the tiny openings in your skin from releasing oil and sweat.

Why are blocked pores an issue?

​

  • Blocked pores stop the skin's surface recieving natural oil (sebum) which is produced by glands on the face to coat the skin and seal in moisture to protect and hydrate the skin

​

How do I know if I have blocked pores?

​

  • Clogged pores can often be the first step to acne but they can also result in blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and cysts - each of which can leave blemishes and/or lead to scarring
